An apartment complex under construction at 2051 Willow Lake Road will provide renters with unparalleled scenic views to the east, north and west—the picturesque Dells, Willow Lake and Granite Mountain among them.
The 7.5-acre site of the community to be known as 2051 ultimately will feature 200 apartments. The units will range from 500 square-foot studio units, 600 square-ft. one-bedroom, and 900 square-foot two-bedroom units. Renters will be able to choose from 21 distinctive floor plans, said Michael Lafferty, president and owner of Lafferty Companies, a Phoenix-based business development firm.
The complex will have four three-story apartment buildings and a clubhouse.
Lafferty said Phase 1 of construction is for 104 apartments—20 studios, 47 with one-bedroom and one bath and 37 two-bedroom, two-bath units.
Phase 1 construction should be complete sometime in January 2021, while work on the second phase construction of the other 96 units will continue through 2021, Lafferty said.
All apartments will contain washers and dryers, stainless steel appliances, microwave, dishwasher and other amenities. Some will have patios or balconies. Covered parking will be available.
Utilities are not included in the rental fee. Rent charges will be based on the square footage of the unit, starting $1.50 per square foot.
All renters will have access to the fifth building, a 2,500 square-foot clubhouse. “It will contain our community room, game room, meeting room, fitness center, and dog bath. It also houses the leasing department and mail room,” Lafferty said. “They’ll also have access to a heated pool and barbeque area.”
All apartments are pet-friendly. Residents will have access to trail and open space immediately behind the complex.
`Lafferty said the cost for the project is an estimated $32 million, with Phase 1 costing about $19 million, and Phase 2, $13 million.
Lafferty and Rick Oelke, project superintendent, said they were committed to using local sub-contractors and local suppliers as much as possible. They noted that more than 100 people are currently employed building the project.
Lafferty said he already was looking forward to more projects in Prescott.
