The City of Prescott and their contractor, Earth Resources Corporation, are currently working on an infrastructure improvement project in Downtown Prescott. The project consists of complete reconstruction and improvements of the alleys and parking lot behind the Bashford Courts Atrium Mall, and the intersection of Willis Street and Cortez Street to Montezuma Street. Improvements at Bashford Courts includes installation of new storm drain, sewer main, parking lot lighting, and landscape elements. Improvements at the Willis Street and North Cortez Street intersection includes a new water main extending to North Montezuma Street, as well as landscape enhancements and crosswalk reconstruction. Additionally, new asphalt pavement will be installed throughout the project area. To minimize impacts to the traveling public, the majority of the work on Willis and Cortez Street will be performed at night. Once finished, the project will significantly improve stormwater drainage, provide upgraded water and sewer utilities, and increase overall safety and accessibility for the Bashford Courts parking lot.
