FY22 Pavement Preservation Project

FY22 PAVEMENT PRESERVATION SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Cactus Asphalt, have reached substantial completion of the FY22 Pavement Preservation Project. The project included cleaning the existing asphalt pavement, repairing severely distressed pavement and placing a new chip seal and seal coat along various roadways throughout the Prescott Community and parking areas within the Sundog Wastewater Treatment Plant. Additional work included the restoration of disturbed traffic striping and the replacement of manhole and water box collars. These improvements have successfully extended the pavement life and improved the ride quality for Prescott motorists. Please remain alert as crews continue to perform minor cleanup activities over the next few weeks to finish out the project.

This City is proud to bring improvements such as this to the Prescott Community and appreciates your support as our crews have worked to complete the project.

Rocky Dells Water Main Replacement Project

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, are working on a water main replacement project that consists of removing and replacing the aged, and deteriorated water main in the Country Club Park Subdivision (commonly referred to as Rocky Dells) and a small section of Thumb Butte Road. Additional work includes the installation of new water services, fire hydrants and curb and driveway restorations as needed. A chip seal application will be applied to the affected streets following utility installation.

Once complete, this project will increase water system reliability and upgrade the existing infrastructure for the local community. The project is scheduled to be finished in summer 2022.

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, no work will be performed on Monday, May 30. Work will resume Tuesday, May 31

WATER MAIN INSTALLATION CONTINUES ALONG ROCKY DELLS DRIVE

Crews will continue installing new water main and services along Rocky Dells Drive, from Rocky Dells Circle and advancing toward Thumb Butte Road throughout the week. Water main installation within Rocky Dells Circle is now complete, with testing remaining.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, June 3, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

NO ON-STREET PARKING

To avoid conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while road construction is underway. Personnel will work with residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zones.

Sundog Sewer Trunk Main Project (Phase C2)

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Fann Contracting, are working on Phase C2 of the Sundog Sewer Trunk Main Project. The project consists of installing new sewer and water mains in various locations highlighted in the map below. Additional work includes the installation of new water services, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt pavement as needed.

These utility upgrades are part of several phases to centralize wastewater collection and treatment throughout the municipal system. Once complete, this project will increase wastewater and water system reliability. This project is scheduled to be complete in spring 2022.

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, no work will be performed on Monday, May 30. Work will resume Tuesday, May 31.

UTILITY INSTALLATION ONGOING ALONG MILLER VALLEY ROAD

Crews will continue installing and testing new water main and services along Miller Valley Road (as shown in the map below). In addition to this work, crews will continue sewer main installation along Miller Valley Road, from just north of Brannen Avenue to just north of Schemmer Drive. Blasting operations associated with this work are now complete.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Tuesday, May 31 through Saturday, June 4, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction, however, please be aware of lane closures, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise, flagging operations and heavy equipment accessing the work zone along Miller Valley Road.

GRADING AND CONCRETE REPLACEMENT TO CONTINUE

Crews will continue grading and replacing concrete along Lincoln Avenue throughout the week.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Tuesday, May 31 through Saturday, June 4, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please be aware of lane closures, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise, heavy equipment and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

ACCESS AND DRIVEWAY CLOSURES

The low-water crossing along Lincoln Avenue will be closed to through traffic periodically during the project. Driveway access will be maintained as best as possible, however, access may alter on a day-to-day basis. Personnel will work to maintain access and will communicate alternate means of ingress and egress throughout the project. Temporary driveway closures may be necessary at times.

Here's a message from the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce about the new Glassford Hill Rd. project.Hi Everyone,
As we enter into June we are also getting started on one of Prescott Valley's biggest road improvement projects, The Glassford Hill Enhancement Project.
Any of us that drive Glassford Hill on a regular, even daily basis know how difficult it can be. This is now being corrected. However, it is not an overnight process and will cause traffic challenges during the project.
We have attached an outline for the project and what to expect. We will provide updates as the project progresses.
Please be patient, we will all appreciate this work when it is completed.
Marnie
