City of Prescott Public Works Projects

The City of Prescott issues updates on its public works projects every Friday. Here are the active projects for Monday, March 1 through Friday, March 5. EQUESTRIAN WAY WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Britt Pipeline, are currently working on a water main replacement project. The project includes installing a new water main along North Equestrian Way, including both intersections with East Liese Boulevard, and North Equestrian Circle. Additional work includes asphalt paving operations along the project corridor following water main installation.

Once complete, this project will increase water system reliability by upgrading the existing utility infrastructure for the local community. The project is scheduled to be complete in winter 2020/2021.

UTILITY TESTING TO CONTINUE

Crews will continue testing the newly installed water main and services along the project corridor.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Monday, March 1 through Friday, March 5, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Please be aware of temporary street closures, sidewalk closures, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zones.

STREET PARKING AND ACCESS

To avoid conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that you avoid on-street parking while construction is underway. Personnel will work with residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zones.

MILE HIGH PARK WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, Inc., are currently working on a water line improvement project. The project includes the removal and replacement of the old, undersized water main and services in the areas highlighted below. Additional work includes reconstructing the low-water crossing along Mayo Street and installing new asphalt pavement throughout the project.

Once complete, these improvements will increase water system reliability by upgrading the existing infrastructure for the Mile High Park Neighborhood. The project is scheduled to be complete in winter 2020/2021.

WATER MAIN INSTALLATION CONTINUES

Water main installation will continue along Keen Street, south of the Paar Drive intersection, throughout the week.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Monday, March 1 through Thursday, March 4, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Keen Street will be closed to through traffic south of the Paar Drive intersection during work hours. Follow the marked detour signage to get to your destination. Please be aware of staged equipment, lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone.

SUBGRADE PREPARATION ONGOING

In advance of paving operations, crews will continue preparing the subgrade along Rose Garden Cove, Mile High Drive, and Keen Street.

WILDWOOD & HAISLEY WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Capital Improvements, LLC, are working on a water main replacement project. The project consists of the installation of new water mains along easements and driveways in two Prescott subdivisions, depicted in the maps below.

Once complete, these up-sized water mains will increase the water volume and water system reliability for adjacent properties, and the local community. The project is scheduled to be complete in winter 2020/2021.

UTILITY INSTALLATION COMPLETE

With the newly installed water main connected to the City’s existing system, utility installation is now complete for this project.

PAVING PREPARATION TO CONTINUE

In advance of asphalt paving operations, crews will be saw-cutting the roadways highlighted in the map below. In addition to this work, crews will be restoring the fire access road between Deerfield Road and Deer Run Road. Concrete work will occur as needed in select driveways throughout the project work zone.

Please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, loud noise, and flagging operations throughout the work zone. To minimize the impacts on the existing asphalt pavement and local surroundings, the contractor will utilize rubber tire equipment.

FY20 CONCRETE REPAIRS & DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Capital Improvements, are currently working on a concrete repair project throughout the City. Improvements include the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, scuppers and roadway striping as needed at various locations throughout the Prescott community. Curb ramp installation, storm drain replacement, brush removal and landscape operations will also take place as part of this project.

Once complete, this project will improve drainage, increase pedestrian safety and extend the life of the repaired concrete into the foreseeable future. The project is schedule for completion in spring 2021.

HORNET DRIVE CONCRETE WORK NEARS COMPLETION

Crews have finished removing and replacing the drainage scupper, sidewalk, and curb and gutter on the east side of Hornet Drive. With this work complete, crews will be performing miscellaneous clean-up and landscaping operations in the work zone throughout the week.

BRADSHAW DRIVE CONCRETE REPAIRS AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO BEGIN

Crews are set to begin removing and replacing the drainage scupper, and curb and gutter on the west side of Bradshaw Drive.

NORTH WASHINGTON AVENUE AND CHURCHILL STREET INTERSECTION WORK TO BEGIN

Crews will be installing sidewalk ramps in the intersection of North Washington Avenue and Churchill Street throughout the week.

SIDEWALK CLOSURES

Temporary sidewalk closures will be required to perform this work; however, personnel will work to accommodate access for local businesses and residents.
