Mayor Mengarelli has Been In Contact With New Owner
The City of Prescott learned late FriMayor Mengarelli has Been In Contact With New Ownerday that the Gateway Mall has been sold to Kohan Retail Investment Group, based in New York.  Their website is http://www.kohanretail.com/.    The company specializes in revitalizing malls across the country.  They have locations in New York, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and several other states.
Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli has been in touch with the new owner, Mr. Mike Kohan.  The Mayor said that Mr. Kohan is pleased with the good condition of the mall, and that he is open to both retail and non-retail uses, such as medical, as well as bringing special events to help spur foot traffic.
“I am excited about this new chapter for the Gateway Mall,” said Mayor Mengarelli.  “We look forward to working with Mr. Kohan and his company to revitalize this important property.”
The City recently signed an agreement with the previous owners, Tobani Company, for a location to house the artifacts from the 19 Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshots, who perished in the Yarnell fire in 2013.  The new owners have expressed desire to honor that agreement.
