The City of Prescott reminds citizens that it is a class 2 misdemeanor for any person to knowingly remove, alter, deface or cover candidate campaign signs. If the sign is placed on private property, only the owner or agent of the owner can remove the sign from the private property.
It should also be noted that campaign signs are NOT permitted to be placed in city rights-of-way or on city owned property.
