City Seeks New Board and Commission Applications for a Variety of Openings Deadline Extended Until February 9, 2018

The City Council Subcommittee for Appointments is now accepting applications for citizens who are interested in serving on a City of Prescott Board, Commission, or Committee (BCC). Appointment terms vary depending on the type of BCC. Appointments will be made in March 2018.  The deadline for applications has been extended until February 9.
The city is currently seeking applications for the following Boards, Commissions and Committees:
 

Advisory Group, Board, Commission, Committee Term Must be a Prescott Resident
Acker Trust Board 03/2018 – 03/2020 No
Advisory & Appeals Board 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Art in Public Places Committee 03/2018 – 03/2020 No
Board of Adjustment 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
CDBG Citizens Advisory Committee 03/2018 – 03/2020 No
Fire Board of Appeals 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Industrial Development Authority 11/2018 – 11/2024 Yes
Library Advisory Board 03/2018 – 03/2020 No
Parks & Recreation Board 03/2018 – 03/2020 No
Planning & Zoning Commission 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Prescott Preservation Commission 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Fire Board 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Public Safety Personnel Retirement System 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes
Unified Development Code Committee 03/2018 – 03/2020 Yes

 
Boards, commissions and committees provide opportunities for citizens to take an active role in their local government.  Members are appointed by the Mayor and/or City Council.  If there are more applicants than seats, the City Council Subcommittee for Appointments will review applications and sometimes conduct interviews with candidates in order to make recommendations to the City Council for appointment.
NOTE: Any members currently appointed to a City of Prescott BCC, whose term expires in March 2018, must submit a new BCC Application indicating interest in continuing to serve.
Applications are due to the city by Friday February 9, 2018.
