On Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 The Prescott City Council recognized Fire Captain Dan Bauman as the Fire Department’s Employee of the Year. Dan was nominated for the award by his peers and was presented a plaque by Mayor Greg Mengarelli. Captain Bauman also received a gift certificate to a local retailer.
According to Chief Dennis Light “Dan’s spirited efforts towards doing great things in our community is very welcomed and as a member of the department’s leadership team he goes well above and beyond the call of duty,” While presenting the award Mayor Mengarelli said “As a family man Captain Bauman balances the needs associated with work while being there for his family.”
As a member of the fire department’s leadership team Dan provides input and insight to senior leadership and is the voice for many of the department’s personnel. Captain Bauman is engaged in the day to day operations of the department and has credentials as a firefighter/paramedic, hazardous materials and technical rescue technician, as well as being the former chairperson for the Prescott Firefighter Charities and member of the Prescott Fire Department Honor Guard to name just a few things.
In accepting the award Captain Bauman acknowledged that he is “Just one of many fine members the Prescott Fire Department,” and is “humbled to have been nominated as the Fire Employee of the Year for 2017”.
This is the second year for the Prescott Fire Department Employee of the year. Last year’s recipient was Fire Engineer Conrad Jackson.
