Ken Lain, ‘The Mountain Gardener,’ Watters Garden Center
A garden is only as strong as the soil it’s planted in, and the same goes for the community. For Ken, gardening is a way to grow more than just Prescott Blaze Maple or Mountain Spanish Broom — it is about cultivating a legacy of service.
Whether sharing advice on his Mountain Garden podcast or helping a neighbor pick the perfect Winter Gem Boxwood, Ken (known as the “Mountain Gardener”), the goal is to lead with vision.
Beyond the garden center, his heart is in local service. From sponsoring Grapes 4 Good, raising money for local schools to his active work with Rotary, he believes in investing in the future for youth and the community.
Ken says, “Whether we are raising funds for scholarships or beautifying our local parks, it is about getting our hands dirty for the greater good.” Keep the community growing, one heart and one garden at a time.
