Loree has spent the past 7½ years combining her passion for storytelling, community outreach and animal welfare to help advance the Yavapai Humane Society mission of protecting and promoting the health, safety and welfare of companion animals.
Originally from Hawaii, Loree moved to Prescott 16 years ago and never imagined that a career combining her love of writing, storytelling
and animals was waiting for her. Previously, she spent more than 25 years working in tax preparation and accounting.
“When I joined YHS, everything came together,” Loree says. “My words became a way to tell stories, inspire action, create connections and give a voice to animals who can’t speak for themselves.”
She credits much of
her inspiration to the animals who have shared her life, including her three adopted YHS companions:
Cassidy Roo, Tigger and Pooh Bear.
“They are
a constant
reminder of the incredible bond between people and animals, and why every pet deserves the chance to experience a loving home.”
