Q: What brought you to Prescott and how long have
you been here?
A: Born and raised in Prescott for 46 years (4 years in Hawaii) with mom, dad and little brother. I’ve worked all my life in construction and trades. When the opportunity presented itself to form my own business, I took it, ran with it, started in my garage and continue to work and form the business to what the company is today. Prescott is home to me and my family, having raised my twin girls here.
Q: Where would you like to vacation to? Why?
A: I could go anywhere and enjoy it. I seek out adventures, challenges, outdoors, and most of all, fun. Catching a ball game in a new city, hiking a mountain 20 miles away, kayaking in the ocean, swimming with the manta rays, it’s all about being in the present and making memories with loved ones.
That being said, I’d head to Seattle for the World Series or wherever it ends up being. I’d go on a seven-day hiking expedition with no service and only what’s in my pack to survive. In Hawaii, you could see something new every day. I’m down for all that.
Q: What is your favorite Prescott activity?
A: Prescott is always here when I get back from my adventures. Prescott and Prescott Valley is home to my family, my customers, my employees. Prescott and PV families have supported my business. I shop local, bike and hike local, play softball local and my kids have grown up here. I love to support the local arts and music scene.
Q: What motivates Joel Zwak?
A: Positivity, good vibes and living a good life. Making the most of what we got. I’m here to provide for my friends, family and community.
Q: If you weren’t your own successful small business owner and entrepreneur, what would you do and why?
A: I’d be in a sports-related field such as a player and transitioned to a manager position. I’d get to share my passion, teaching, knowledge and experiences about not only the game but life. My players would get to see the human aspect of life anywhere from helping to manage their finances to giving back to their communities and living human kindness. It’s all about more love, fun and making memories.
