The City of Prescott, Solid Waste Division provides trash and recycling service to all residential units (4 units or less) within the City. To ensure service occurs on the scheduled day without interruption, we are asking citizens to follow the guidelines below.
Trash and recycle containers should be placed at the curb for service no later than 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection and removed no later than 11:00 p.m. on the same day. The collection of trash and recycling on the same day allows the containers to be removed from the curb, and placed where they are no longer visible to the public view for the remainder of the week, which keeps our city beautiful and clean.
The trash and recycling containers placed out for service should be kept away from parked vehicles and if multiple containers are set out, place them three (3) feet apart from each other.
All trash should be bagged for collection and the lid must be closed on the container. Recyclable material placed in the blue recycle container must not be bagged. At the Material Recovery Facility where the recyclables are processed, any bagged material is considered contamination and goes to the landfill.
If you have a damaged trash or recycle container, contact the Transfer Station for the repair or replacement of the containers.
