The City of Prescott, the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and the entire community will celebrate the inaugural United Express flights operated by SkyWest Airlines on Wednesday, Aug. 29, beginning at 12 p.m. the Prescott Municipal Airport terminal.
- Festivities will begin with a reception at Suzie’s restaurant, inside the airport terminal at 12 p.m.
- At 12:25 p.m. there will be an official ribbon cutting, hosted by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.
- At approximately 1:17 p.m., the very first United Express Flight from Denver will arrive, with VIP passengers including Mayor Greg Mengarelli. The plane will be received under a “water arch” courtesy of Prescott Fire Department.
- At approximately 1:50 p.m., the first United Express Flight to Los Angeles International Airport will depart, full of dignitaries, business and community leaders.
“This will be a huge day for the entire region,” said Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli. “We will celebrate with our friends from the State, Yavapai County, Prescott Valley, and our entire community. This air service, with daily flights to Denver, and six days a week to LAX, is a game changer for air travel in northern Arizona. We are excited to get this going.”
United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, will fly full service 50-seat CRJ200 regional jets to L.A. and Denver.
