Prescott Center for the Arts
Friday, October 5, 7:00 PM
TIX:  $25 – $30   928-445-3286
Available online at www.folksessions.com  https://www.pca-az.net/
On Friday, October 5, Grammy-nominated Nashville songstress Sally Barris opens the 10th Season of PCA Presents the Folk Sessions and Prescott Center for the Arts joint concert series, featuring the finest in folk and acoustic music. Sharing the bill is Re-Imagining Neil Young, performed by popular Phoenix artists, Eric Ramsey and Robby Roberson. Tickets are available at the Prescott Center for the Arts Box Office or by calling 928-445-3286.
“Sally Barris knows how to write lyrics that are as forthright as a stream of clear.” DIRTY LINEN
Sally Barris is an A-list Nashville songwriter who has had songs covered by such top-level artists as Kathy Mattea, Martina McBride, and Lee Ann Womack. Her song “Let the Wind Chase You”, recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban, received a GRAMMY nomination. While her writing credits mightily impress, fans and peers are most captivated by her bright spirit and expressive mountain soprano. The Minnesota native has performed Mountain Stage, New Bedford Summer Fest, Wildflower Arts & Music Festival and The Kerrville Folk Festival.
In Re-Imagining Neil Young, two-time Phoenix Blues Showdown winner Eric Ramsey and popular Valley performer Robby Roberson team up to re-imagine songs in tribute to one of our greatest singer-songwriters, Neil Young. Eric Ramsey was the semi-finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. He has filmed for PBS distribution the prestigious Songwriter’s Showcase, and he’s a favorite on the Folk and Blues Festival circuits, not only for his dynamic performances but for his open tuning and slide guitar workshops. Robby Roberson sings original musical stories steeped in imagination, happiness and sorrow – delivered through the musical strings of multiple instruments, played skillfully and passionately.
The Folk Sessions may well be one of the most eclectic radio shows in America. Broadcast throughout Central & Northern Arizona for over 15 years on the KJAZZ Radio Network and Prescott Public Radio, part of the Arizona Community Radio Network. The Folk Sessions has established a loyal following, producing quality radio programs and live concerts.
It is the mission of the Prescott Center for the Arts to create opportunities for the greater community to engage in and experience all facets of the arts.
