Three A’s that are essential in Dr. Mohindra’s life: availability (24/7), affability and ability. Dr. Raghav Mohindra is a board-certified Geriatric and Internal Medicine Specialist, who lives by the three A’s.
“I enjoy meeting one-on-one with all of my patients and take pride in my work.” Dr. Mohindra said.
At 38, he comes to you with more than 17 years of experience in the medical field.
“Senior care has always been a passion of mine, and from a very young age I cared for my family members in India,” he said. “I learned to speak English in my youth from my mother who taught English in India.”
As a determined young man, who valued education thanks to his parents’ influence, Dr. Mohindra graduated medical school at 21. Gaining a vast knowledge in medicine was a goal of his. He studied all areas of medicine from his position as a cardiology resident at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in northern India. He was a lead lecturer in pathology at the National Dental College in Punjab. He also worked at a hospital in Mauritius for two years as a hospitalist in medicine and OBGYN and then moved to the United States and became a citizen.
In the U.S., Dr. Mohindra held a three-year residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and followed up his education with a year-long fellowship in geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. He moved to Arizona to work for Banner Health as a hospitalist at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center and Banner Boswell Medical Center until October 2011. Dr. Mohindra then started a private practice in October 2011, with a current office location near Bell and El Mirage roads in Surprise.
“I have hospital privileges at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center and Banner Boswell Medical Center with the ability to access my patients’ medical records at all times at Banner Health and Mayo Clinic.”
He is also the Medical Director of Sante of Surprise rehab center.
However, Dr. Mohindra isn’t all work. He enjoys being active by running, playing tennis, hiking, flying airplanes (Cessna 172) and simply being outdoors. That’s how he found Prescott, Arizona!
Dr. Mohindra visited Prescott for the first time in 2010 and fell in love with the area. After making house calls at assisted-living facilities, he quickly recognized the need for primary and geriatrics care in the Prescott area.
“I subsequently started seeing patients at local assisted-living facilities and realized we needed to serve the local community in this very difficult time in health-care crisis and provide multiple layers of value-based services in office settings,” he said.
Dr. Mohindra and other physicians will be present at the new Prescott location.
“We have two nurse practitioners and three doctors at the Crossings office,” he said. “We look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community by providing great care,” he said.
