Marci Golden and Tony Winkelman moved to Prescott in 1982 because they wanted to raise their children in a friendly, small-town environment. After hearing that the insurance business could use someone with the ability to teach senior consumers what they need to know about Medicare, Marci was drawn to the idea.

In 1986, they formed Golden Insurance Services, primarily focusing on Medicare-based health insurance. Marci began with research and educational outreach. Since 1990 she’s taught a noncredit class at Yavapai College to provide information about Medicare coverage.

Shauna Brown grew up in Chino Valley and started working at Golden Insurance in 1998. After working alongside Marci for 29 years, she is carrying Marci’s legacy of consumer education forward. Her long standing relationships with clients reflect the trust she has built.

Marci and Shauna represent two generations of women in business dedicated to helping others navigate important life decisions with confidence. Their story is one of mentorship, longevity and commitment to the community.
