Shelly Crossman, Owner, Dermatology & Skin Care by Shelly

Shelly moved to Prescott in 2018 from Upstate New York. She worked for SUNY Upstate Medical University where she has experience in oncology, ICU and as a clinical trainer, CPR instructor and rapid response nurse before becoming a nurse practitioner.

She obtained her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from SUNY Upstate Medical University. She then left the hospital environment to pursue her love for dermatology.

Her interest partly commenced from time spent in the intensive care burn unit. She realized “just how important our skin is in not only keeping us alive, but also giving us clues and telling a story about our health.”

Shelly has practiced for over 13 years and is certified in dermatology through the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board.

Her love of dermatology has led from a long-time dream to opening Dermatology & Skin Care by Shelly in Chino Valley with the help of her supportive husband Eric, as well as her friend and office manager Alyssa.

Her motto is “Healthy Skin, Happy You.” Their goal: To bring back the caring atmosphere, so patients feel heard and to not be ‘Just another derm clinic’”.

OUT & ABOUT — Thank you to Molly Romine for sending in this photo of the Prescott Valley Healing Field of Northern Arizona at the Prescott Valley Civic Center. The annual display of nearly 3000 flags is a memorial to the victims of the 9/11 attacks.

"Each flagpole bears information about the victims of the attacks. Many visitors have found the names of friends and family, and others have come to pay their respects to the victims and the first responders who gave their lives trying to rescue them."

The flags will be on display until Sept. 18. Thank you to all of the volunteers who install and remove the flags each year.
