As Executive Director of Sharlot Hall Museum, few moments fill me with more pride than welcoming our community back for two annual celebrations close to our hearts. This fall, we have something truly special in store, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
The 28th Annual Prescott Indian Art Market
On the weekend of Sept. 19 and 20, we open our grounds for the 28th annual Prescott Indian Art Market, our treasured Native American fine arts celebration. This juried show brings together approximately 80 of the finest Native artists working today. You’ll find an incredible range of art media from oil painting and beadwork to pottery and weaving.
This is more than a market. It’s a full celebration of Indigenous culture featuring art, music, live performances and hands-on artist demonstrations. Every corner offers a chance to connect with artists and the stories woven into their work.
I’m especially thrilled to introduce this year’s featured artist Delmar Polacca, a gifted Hopi pottery artist whose craftsmanship reflects deep tradition and skill. Meeting him and seeing his work in person will be a highlight of the weekend.
Tickets are just $15, and I promise you another amazing show.
The 42nd Folk Music Festival
Now for news I’ve been eager to announce. After seven years away, our beloved Folk Music Festival is coming home. The 42nd Folk Music Festival returns to our historic grounds on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This daylong celebration reunites audiences and performers in the setting we all cherish. There’s nothing quite like folk music drifting across the museum’s grounds on a crisp autumn day. We’re also hosting a special limited-seating private concert with the national group The Folk Legacy Trio on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. Seats are limited, so plan ahead if you’d like to join us.
